Our Caregivers and Nannies

Stewart's nannies and caregivers are carefully screened. To become a Stewart's Caregiver, each applicant must:

• Successfully complete an extensive physical and psychological examination;
• Have first aid and CPR training, or a medical background in nursing, or previous professional training and experience in adult or child care;
• Be able to speak, read and write English well enough for daily life
• Complete a six-month caregivers’ training course in the Philippines
• Maintain a high standard of professional conduct
• Pass reference checks and a criminal background check; and
• Demonstrate that she will be a hard-working, honest and polite addition to a Canadian family.

Stewart’s nannies and caregivers are experienced caregivers who have completed their training and have accepted positions in Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Taiwan, Hong Kong and other countries. Within three to six months, we can bring these experienced caregivers to Canada for your family.

All of our caregivers are Filipino. Our experience is that these women are especially hard-working and skilled at their jobs in addition to being family-oriented and fun-loving.

Our caregivers are highly valued by their Canadian employers and are often regarded as part of the family. Our Canadian employers are wonderful people who treat their caregivers with respect and fairness.

Our Guarantee
We guarantee to give you the right caregiver for your family. We offer a three-month introductory period. If you are not happy with your caregiver for any reason during that period, we will provide you with another caregiver at no additional charge.

We serve clients across Canada, carefully matching the personalities and skills of each caregiver to your specific requirements. Only superior candidates who have met the criteria outlined above will be offered to your family.

Stewart’s will help you from the start to the end of the process. We will:

• Prepare all government documents for you and for your incoming caregiver
• Coach your selected caregiver through the immigration process
• Prepare your selected caregiver to better serve your family by compiling a training binder of information which is sent to your caregiver before she comes to Canada
• Meet your caregiver at the airport and give her initial training to help her work with your family
• Offer support to you and your caregiver as you meet
• Give your caregiver continued support in adapting to Canada through our clubhouse and information services

Your relationship with your caregiver is also a relationship with Stewart's Caregivers. We will always be available to answer questions and give you the support you need.

Although Stewart's Caregivers serves clients across Canada, one of the company goals is to promote in-home care to the growing population of seniors retiring to the Vancouver Island region. Stewart's is centrally located in Nanaimo, B.C., the hub city for the island.
