Application Procedure

  1. You send a resume or application form with two photographs. Successful applicants are added to our employment registry.
  2. We will look for an employer for you. Once you have been selected by an employer, we will arrange for the employer to sign an employment contract with you.
  3. We work with you and the employer to complete the paperwork to bring you to Canada. Processing the application takes three to six months, starting from when we submit the first documents to Human Resources Development Canada.
  4. Human Resources Development Canada will send a confirmation letter to the employer, approving the application for a live-in caregiver. The employer will send a copy of this letter to you. You will need this letter to come to Canada.
  5. We will guide you through the application process with Canadian Immigration. You will need to go to the Canadian Embassy for an interview.
  6. After you pass the interview, you will be referred for a medical examination. If you pass the medical examination and background check, you will be issued a visa and work permit to come to Canada.

Stewart's Caregivers will be available throughout the entire process to help you find work in Canada and eventually emigrate to Canada.

After two years, live-in caregivers can apply to become permanent Canadian residents.
